Dr. Levine received a B.S. from Brandeis University, an M.D. from Weill Medical College of Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Rockefeller University, and she was a postdoctoral fellow at the Salk Institute of Biological Studies. She started an independent lab in 2015 as an Earl Stadtman Investigator at the National Institutes of Health and was promoted to Senior Scientist in 2024. In the Fall of 2026, she will move to the Krembil Research Institute at the University Health Network of the University of Toronto where she will be the Peter Gilgan Chair in Neuroregeneration Research.

Dena joined the lab as a post-doctoral fellow in 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from New York University (2024) and completed her undergraduate studies at Brandeis University, where she earned an accelerated B.S./M.S. (2017).
